Within Azure Data, the Insights and Analytics team is dedicated to building and maintaining internal analytics and reporting platform hosted on Microsoft Fabric.
This platform delivers insights to Azure Data Engineering team leaders, Product Managers, Marketing, Finance and Sales.
Additionally, the team serves as the initial customer of newly developed products and features, running them in a production environment and collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to provide invaluable feedback.
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer II to enhance the Semantic Models of our analytics platform to accommodate the expanding data volume and user base, while also focusing on ensuring dependable and high-performing operations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve participating in regular standup meetings, picking up work items based on your capacity, collaborating with the team s Program Managers to define new projects or initiatives, and generating innovative ideas for enhancements.
Beyond the semantic model development work, you will engage directly with the teams developing the tools we utilize, enabling you to offer direct product feedback and witness your input driving changes in the products over time.
Our team aims to provide comprehensive reporting on the health of Azure Data products and contribute to their overall effectiveness and utility.

Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering , or related field AND 2
years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering workOR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field AND 1
year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering workOR equivalent experience.
Other RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

S.
is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.

Work with the Program Managers on translating business requirements to tabular modeling development requirements.
Work with the Program Managers on moving report-based DAX measures into the team s central semantic model.
Work on continuously improving user experience by measuring and optimizing performance of the semantic model.
Work with the Data Engineering team on specifying data engineering requirements based on the semantic model designs and development requirements.
Contribute to the design of major feature enhancements for Fabric and leverage your experience and perspective to provide critical feedback on the approach with special focus on Direct Lake feature.
Work directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements, iterate, and finalize design, deliver working proofs of concept, and develop final data solutions.
Collaborate with your peers and maintain flexibility on domain ownership as business priorities evolve.
Contribute to the success of Azure Data by trying out and testing new products and features, dedicating time to providing direct feedback to the Product Group.
Work with other data teams within Microsoft on understanding their semantic models, and onboard/merge topics from other models based on the business requirements.
Contribute to others' success by sharing tabular model development best practices within and outside of Microsoft.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
