Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Kuiper team is looking for a manager to lead a team of global category sourcing and supply chain managers responsible for delivering critical technologies and services needed by our business and engineering stakeholders.
Key job responsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have a successful track record growing and leading teams, developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating master agreements and statements of work, and managing supplier performance.
Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.
Job Responsibilities Include:
o Develop and manage a team of Supply Chain professionals, supporting global operations; hire top talent and support their career growtho Drive hardware delivery through the product life cycle from requirements development to on-dock (on time at the right quality and cost)o Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify and execute projects/opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit industry developments that benefit Amazon's customerso Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to standardize practices used to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and otherso Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizationso Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technologyo Develop templates to help the team perform financial modeling of large and complex dealso Evaluate and monitor supplier performance across your team's categories, identifying and mitigating areas of risk (financial, compliance/regulatory, quality, etc.
)o Coach your team on effective meeting habits including clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordinationo Ensure orders are released and on schedule to meet needs of the production systemPrioritized Amazon Leadership Principles Learn and Be Curious Earn Trust Invent and SimplifyExport Control Requirement:
