Buyer-Planner SPACE PROGRAM, Project Kuiper SPACE PROGRAM
Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain, analytical abilities, and fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
They will have a great bias toward data driven decision making, be comfortable with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects, be able to think big and creatively (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

o Dive Deep - Solve technical/process problems within supplier processeso Earn Trust - Ability to earn trust of engineering partners to be successfulo Insist on High Standards - Hold a firm line on quality with internal teams and suppliersPlace purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of all MRO, calibration, production and engineering material as required by approved Purchase Requisitions and Approved Exposure Inventory list to include all customer flow down requirements.
Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of all future problems.
Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes.
Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on approved exposure inventory along with production and engineering schedules based on material lead times.
Coordinate material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply options.
Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
Understand and comply with all FAR, DFAR, ITAR flow down requirements.
Understand and comply with all import/export requirements.

This roles primary responsibilities are ensuring material availability to support production and engineering schedules, place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of all MRO, calibration, production and engineering material as required by approved Purchase Requisitions and Approved Exposure Inventory list to include all customer flow down requirements, managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring compliance and supporting other business functions as required.
