Senior Modeling Engineer, Antenna Development Professional Services - Redmond, WA at Geebo

Senior Modeling Engineer, Antenna Development

Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The key components of LEO satellite networks are phased array antennas which allow for sustained connectivity between the ground-based terminals and the orbiting satellites.
Phased arrays are implemented in highly parallel and complex architectures consisting of RF, analog, and digital, electrical, thermal, mechanical, and software components.
Effective computer models are essential for the simulating the performance of phased array systems under different operational and environmental conditions to guide the architectural decisions, drive component and block level specifications, and perform diagnostic analysis.
While a high level of abstraction is necessary to reduce these highly complex systems to practical computational models, models must be sufficiently detailed to allow for inclusion of important real-world effects such impedance mismatch, part variations, component impairments, and calibration errors.
As the Phased Array Modeling Engineer, a key aspect of your role will be to create models that strike the right balance between simplicity and accuracy.
You will work with a combination of commercial and custom-built tools to support the hardware development effort from concept to production.
