Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Buyer/Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support production and engineering schedules.
Other responsibilities for the Buyer/Planner include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring compliance and supporting other business functions as required.
Key job responsibilitieso Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of all future problems.
o Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes.
o Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on approved exposure inventory along with production and engineering schedules based on material lead times.
o Coordinate material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
o Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
o Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
o Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply options.
o Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
o Understand and comply with all FAR, DFAR, ITAR flow down requirements.
o Understand and comply with all import/export requirements.
