Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
As a Sr Modem Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for 3rd party Customer Terminal (CT) modem system development, including requirements, hardware, firmware/software architecture trade-offs, implementation, test and validation.
You will be working in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team and 3rd party partners supporting development and productization of various CT products.

Key job responsibilitiesIn this role, your responsibilities include:
o Define CT Modem sub-systems formal requirements and specifications using industry standard requirement entry and tracking methodologieso Own unique embedded software and firmware functions through design, implementation, test, and integration in an embedded Linux environment.
o Proactive engagement with internal and external development partners on Modem System hardware and software architectures and implementation.
o Develop prototype FW and SW for lab and field mobility terminal demonstrations.
o Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirementso Perform in-field test and validation of various CT architectureso Expect up to 20% of travel depending on the phases of the projectsA day in the lifeCome work at Amazon! About the teamThe Customer Terminal team is responsible for the architecture, development, manufacturing, test, integration, and production of all consumer terminal systems.
This includes internally developed phased arrays for multiple verticals as well as supporting 3rd party antennas.
These antenna systems will meet performance requirements defined by the RF/modem team and environmental and reliability requirements defined by the ME team.
To this end, the antenna team collaborates closely with all the partner teams including silicon, EE, power, ME, thermal, modem, RF/Coms system, and SW teams.
