EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ROLE &
Responsibilities:
The Recreation Specialist - Farm (Supplemental) will assist with basic animal care for the equine and livestock at Farrel-McWhirter Farm.
This can include but is not limited to such work at the parks facility as:
feeding, grooming, handling, first aid and routine health maintenance.
The position will also clean animal living areas such as pens, stalls, and cages.
Routine maintenance of Farm, office buildings, and barnyard will be required.
Communicates Farm and park policies and program information to the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
High School diploma or GEDCollege degree or courses preferredSuccessful passing of a background checkSix months work experience with animals such as working on a farm with livestock and equineOne to two years of work experience, with experience in a public setting preferred18 years or olderLICENSE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Washington State driver's license by date of hireDriving record that meets City standardsMust be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds, on occasionMust be willing to obtain first aid and CPR certification within two months of hirePerform outside physical work in varying weather conditionsUse small tools and if applicable, learn to operate a tractorPerform basic janitorial duties.
Communicate effectively and courteously with the public and other staff members.
Proactively deal with customer service concernsWork independently to complete tasks SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
