Supply Chain Security Manager, Kuiper Program Security
Amazon Corporate Security's (ACS) Prototype Security team is searching for a Supply Chain Security (SCS) manager who is able to manage, enhance, and grow our supply chain security service delivery to support Amazon's Project Kuiper team.
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unnerved and underserved communities around the world.

This position is responsible for collaborating with cross functional security peers to deliver supply chain security and Intellectual Property (IP) protection strategic guidance of Kuiper research and development materials, facilitation of secure transport, collaboration with other security peers to support offsite testing activities, and facilitation of materials movement for launch support activities.

The Supply Chain Security Manager provides administrative, organizational, strategic, and logistical support and problem-solving for Amazon's Project Kuiper program, especially as it pertains to delivery of supply chain security services to ensure confidentiality and secure movement of physical materials.
This position provides programmatic management and strategic oversight for Supply Chain Security -Project Kuiper by ensuring that strategic services are delivered, and ensures the secure handling, transport, delivery, or storage of materials through internal teams or through 3P vendors, are managed according to Amazon policies, standards, and procedures.
The SCS Manager is responsible to ensure the operational processes and all related policies, standards and procedures are up-to-date and align with business and security needs.

Key job responsibilitieso Effective coordination with the other regional security operations, personnel security, secure destruction, and SCS specialistso Support the day-to-day operation and administration of secure logistics, especially as it pertains to the physical security of materials in transito Plan, coordinate, and execute product movement involving multiple Kuiper and vendor teams and stakeholders across multiple locations and regions o Identify solutions to support secure shipping needs, utilizing technology and equipment to effectively strategize and safeguard development hardware and materials o Support supply chain security programs through on-site presence on the involved sites during normal operating hours, Monday-Friday.
Occasional off-hours site visits may be required according to business needso Review supply chain security escalations to evaluate conditions that expose intellectual property to risk and reduce escalations through coordination with external vendors, security, and internal customers o Coordinate secure shipping and receiving with multiple vendor partners, including ensuring correct labeling, handling, tracking, and secure packaging standards are being followed o Manage and ensure contractual deliverables are met for third-party logistics and security vendors o Act as subject matter expert for chain of custody operations, advising peers and customers with regards to policy, guidelines and SOPs o Proactively identify process gaps, propose suggestions for improvement in service, and openly participate in team discussions o Devise, implement and document new standards and processes for secure shipping and ensure solutions are effective, tailored to business need and scalable o Document and train team on supply chain security standards and the implementation of unique geographical and compliance guidelines in the secure shipping and transportation process o Update and implement standards, contracts, policies, and procedures for materials management, shipping, and storage within third-party facilities o Support Business Continuity planning and process implementation for program teams o Assist in the development of security awareness materials to include online training modules, and be willing to deploy and conduct in person training sessions, employee outreach events, educational posters and handout material o Actively evaluate, analyze, and use metrics collected to proactively inform programmatic needs and policy decisions o Manage multiple concurrent projects and inquiries under tight deadlines o Manage the supply chain security program budget for the assigned area and ensure all line items are appropriately funded to ensure optimum service delivery at the correct cadence o Provide data metrics to leadership on a weekly basis, updating the any relevant dashboards, project tracker and budget tracker accordingly o Assist with secure destruction material sorting, packaging, and removal from production areas o Perform other related duties as required.
In extraordinary circumstances, this may include responding to ad hoc inquiries and incidents outside of office hoursA day in the lifeThe day-to-day responsibilities of this job include significant amounts of coordination with Amazon employees, logistics and third-party vendors to coordinate services, execute operations, and document all aspects of the security processes utilized and capture associated metrics.
This position involves working closely with other teams involved in the management of programs in order to gather the information necessary to identify services which enhance security and determine a scalable solution for delivering them.
