Quality Inspector, Project Kuiper
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Quality Team at Project Kuiper is looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team and help perform critical inspection duties within our Manufacturing Quality organization.
Key job responsibilitiesThe Quality Inspector will operate advanced metrology equipment to ensure product conformance for highly-complex aerospace grade hardware.
Perform Receiving Inspection activity using sampling plans and metrology equipment, such as CMMs, Romer Arms, micrometers, calipers, height gages, calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.

Report nonconformances when defective material is found.
Develop and lead 5S activities around the Quality area(s) to ensure efficient working areas.
Read Inspection Plans and Work Instructions to perform quality inspectionsInterpret engineering blueprints and drawings to the ASME Y14.
5 standard to GD&TPerform Critical in-process and final inspections for assembled product.
Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to the requirements of AS9102Develop Standard Operator Procedures (SOPs) for other inspectors to follow for day-to-day tasks.
Train new inspectors on the correct usage of equipment and day to day responsibilities.

A day in the lifeThis role will work daily to:
Execute inspection plans for a wide variety of received hardware, utilizing a wide range of equipment.
Perform and complete FAIs to AS9102 and present package to engineering for sign off.
Inspect and buy off rework/repair activitiesInvestigate hardware for defects, and create nonconformance reports for discrepant hardwarePerform In-Process and Final inspections for assembly processesThis individual will consistently coordinate with quality, manufacturing, and engineering to understand and inspect part requirements, and report defects.
About the teamThe Kuiper Manufacturing Quality team is driven to develop a Kuiper Quality System that is capable of scaling aerospace quality to volume and cost levels to meet end customer needs.
This position will join the team at an exciting moment, with an opportunity to own quality system development and contribute to the design of requirements, processes, and systems used across the business.
