Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft s Intelligent Cloud mission.
SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions.

To achieve this goal, the Semi-Custom and Central IP Silicon (SCIPS) team is instrumental in developing semicustom silicon and logical acceleration and analog IP related to Microsoft cloud hardware.
We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Required/Minimum Qualifications 9
years of related technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6
years technical engineering experience or internship experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4
years technical engineering experience or internship experience OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3
years technical engineering experience.
8
years of computer architecture, design and/or modeling experience.
3
years of experience in one or more of the following fields, Lossless Data compression algorithms (such as Z standard or industry related) or nonvolatile memory express (NVMe) and storage technology or Device Virtualization (single root I/O virtualization (SRIOV) or Scalable IO Virtualization (SIOV))Other RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications Modelling Experience 3
years of experience in developing functional / performance cycle or bit-accurate C/C+
models Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is a plus Industry standard interfaces such as AMBA AXI, PCIe, CXL, and DDR/LPDDR is preferred Confidential compute and security needs QoS mechanisms Accelerator Use Cases that are tightly coupled with compute cores Crypto, Compression, Packet Parsing, Filtering Experience designing and architecting complicated IPs and SoCs.
Effective communication skills to influence Azure business and engineering teams.
Silicon Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.
S.
is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
