lead Data Warehouse/BI architect

The Windows Phone Marketplace team is looking for a Senior Data Warehouse / BI architect to help us bring our business intelligence capabilities to the next level by leading the design and implementation of our data warehouse from the ground up. We are seeking someone who is passionate about architecture, design and development of data warehousing and BI solutions and data mining, reporting and analysis to enable the business to make data driven decisions.
This position has a broad and significant impact. The Marketplace BI & Analytics team delivers data and insights that drive our business and changes how we source and sell mobile apps. Our team powers the analytics behind the world of Windows Phone apps. As an architect in our team, you will provide leadership and guidance to the BI team by applying best practices while devising and implementing analytical solutions to produce effective results.
Required qualifications include:
o 8
years of data warehouse implementation experience.
o 6
years of business intelligence development expertise.
o Track record of successfully leading 2
data warehouse / BI projects following the Kimball methodology.
o Expert level experience architecting solutions with the Microsoft BI stack: SQL Analysis Service (SSAS), Integration Service (SSIS), SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), Reporting tools (Excel, PPS).
o Significant implementation experience of Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modeling.
o Experience using COSMOS distributed storage and data processing system highly desirable.
o Broad knowledge of Enterprise Data Architecture and data integration patterns.
o Extensive experience writing complex SSIS packages, T-SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
o Broad OLAP experience in designing, building and deploying cubes using SSAS, including writing MDX queries.
o Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and maintaining SharePoint / PerformancePoint solutions for creation of KPI dashboards and Reports.
o Excellent knowledge on performance tuning (Indexes, mirroring, log shipping and replication).
o Excellent programming skills with any one of these languages C++/C#, VBA is a plus.
o Hands-on experience with Data Analysis, Data Mining and BI Business Models.
Preferred qualifications include:
o Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent.
o Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or MCTS Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) is a big plus.
o A job history that demonstrates a consistent commitment to excellence, and ability to collaborate well with cross functional groups and virtual teams to effectively solve technical challenges.
o Strong cross team collaboration and organizational skills.
o Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
o Excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
