The AWS EHS team is an expanding and dynamic team that is critical to enabling AWS's growth around the world, as well as ensuring compliance of AWS's global operations, including physical data centers, as well as other AWS facilities, customer-facing enterprises and products.
The EHS team has responsibility for architecting and implementing AWS's global environmental and safety programs.
This includes defining and implementing risk management and compliance systems and driving their continuous improvement; setting and refining global policies and procedures; overseeing the development of standards, tools, auditing and metrics, and employee training; ensuring effective engagement by environmental and health & safety teams on global initiatives, including those that are part of Amazon's ambitious sustainability goals; providing specialist expertise; and engaging with all AWS business units to provide scalable and effective environmental and health & safety compliance strategies that support current and future business objectives while ensuring employee safety and compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations.
We're expanding our Industrial Hygiene team and need a talented Ergonomics professional to join our Health & Safety Team to establish a global program and implement processes to protect employees.
The Ergonomics Engineer will report to the Global Safety Engineer Industrial Hygiene and will support all business units within AWS, with a strong focus on the safe operations of our data centers.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Work with Data Center Health & Safety team and stakeholders to provide technical expertise and problem-solving skills to support innovative solutions and optimize performance on a regional scale.
Additionally, the candidate is expected to assess employee tasks performed in the data centers (rack movements, rack installation, physical media destruction, battery testing, filter changes, etc.
), construction sites, and electrical work by conducting physical assessments and applying ergonomic standards and analysis tools to identify risk factors and recommendations associated with product, process, tooling, material handling, workstation design, and process.
Collaborate with other groups within AWS including:
Facilities Managers, Hardware Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Workers' Compensation, third-party vendors and other stakeholders to assist in developing risk controls that are fit for purpose and effective.
You will need to be able to travel (at least 30-40% of time).
Responsibilities Use a variety of ergonomic tools and methods to assess and quantify risk both pre and post intervention.
Be design driven, using data analysis and assessment to provide realistic recommendations and actions.
Support multi-disciplinary/multi-stakeholder projects targeting reduction of musculoskeletal risks and enhancing human performance.
Complete initial level research and collect background and historical information specific to topical areas using internal data sources.
Execute data collection and analysis protocols.
Work across multiple teams such as operations, technology designers and engineers to analyze and evaluate data, conduct evaluations, and generate concepts, design specifications, and usability goals.
Adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, strategy and deadlines.
Earn trust of senior leadership by proactively engaging to understand the business, identify emerging risks, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Provide technical guidance and solutions for global/complex problems, even when the situation is not well understood.
High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy.
Must exhibit excellent problem solving skills, high judgement and attention to detail.
Ensure record keeping is maintained and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
